Our Directors

Frank Khalid/Fukhera Khalid OBE is a businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He has followed his passion for family, food, football and film to become an award winning and celebrated business leader both here in the UK and internationally.

Born in 1968 in South East London, Frank left school and set up a wholesale business at the tender age of 16. Taking a small unit of 6,000 square feet in East London’s Stratford, it wasn’t long until Frank needed bigger premises and in 1985 moved to Barking occupying a 25,000 square foot warehouse. Ambitious and determined to expand the ‘Cash and Carry’ business, in 1993 Frank took on another unit, Elbrook in Mitcham, Surrey. He credits his father as the inspiration for wanting to run his own business having helped out in the family’s local convenience store.

Frank was among those named in the 2023 New Year Honours list. Frank was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), for services to Business, to Charity and to the Community. On January 10th 2023 he was further honoured by being awarded the Freedom of the City of London.

Amjad joined the business in 2003 & took over Shims role in the export side of the business.

Amjad opened Dough Central a Pizza/sub restaurant in 2020 in Colliers Wood, the restaurant is doing well and has had great reviews and featured in Forbes magazine.

Shim joined Elbrook cash and carry in 1987 and quickly became our off licence buyer and dealt with our export division. Shim was also the one that opened our Elbrook Mitcham with senior Mr Mohammed Ashiq Khalid in 1993.

Shim decided to open his own business in 2004 when he opened the famous night club Kabaret Prophecy in Soho, West End. It was voted number night club by independent in 2006. Shim due to bad health closed Kabaret in 2010.

Shim then helped grow our Chak89 business with the restaurant and is now back with the cash and carry.

My dad was the inspiration behind everyone and was the reason why we have done well. My dad came to the UK in 1963 from Pakistan as a young 16 year old, only had £5 in his pocket which was taken by the taxi driver when he dropped him off at my uncles house. My dad worked night and day and then got married to my mum in 1967 & brought her back to the UK.
